WHAT: Cao Cao's throwing a hugeass party at camp. Mingle, get to know each other and remember who paid for that booze! Create your own threads, threadjump and have fun.
WHERE: The metaspace that is the camp area.
WARNING(S): Beyond typical party shenanigans, not much.

[What is there not to like about a party? Especially if it's hosted by someone like Cao Cao. Never let it be said that Cao Cao didn't know how to party.

The camp was festooned with dark blue banners with the crest of the Kingdom of Wei on them. Whether you like it or not, it's a reminder of who put this on in the first place - but it seems like tonight is not to be a night for hostilities. (any attempt to change the decor, and cao cao will sic his bodyguards on you.)

There was an abundance of food and drink, ranging from small dainty snacks that could be picked up with your hands to a variety of spit roasted animals to satisfy that craving for meat. Drinks ranged from the mildest teas to the hardest forms of alcohol from both Japan and China, for the bravest amongst the warriors. and Needless to say, everything in-between was provided.

So, relax. Enjoy the party. The snakes can be dealt with later.]

[Seated in a high backed chair with a drink in his hand, it's the host of the party himself. At the moment though, he looks pretty bored.

Come entertain him with your enthralling conversation?]

[ she has a cup of wine that is mostly untouched, and she's leaving something of an icy chill in the air as she makes her way through the crowd. Is she looking for Cao Cao, or is her closeness of a coincidence? She's not telling :) ]

[Nuwa, you sneaky little thing! Cao Cao immediately looks up when he is addressed, his expression barely changing.]

Men thrive on the niceties that society places upon them. I am uncomfortable with it.

Then why have you not seized the chance to turn this celebration into what it is you wish? The niceties of society have not stopped you before.

[ that he is not caught unaware is not unusual - if he were surprised at her appearance, he would not truly be Cao Cao. But she too is unflappable as always, waiting watching and wondering. ]

[ And does he have some enthralling conversation for him! How can he miss out on greeting his lord, slipping up next to him and holding up a cup of wine in his direction. ]

A fine celebration as always, my lord. You never fail to outdo yourself. Though I must say ...there is one thing I find lacking.

Well perceived, Guo Jia. I am glad that I am not the only one to find this... lacking.

[He raises his glass in Guo Jia's direction though, and takes a drink.]

[ His smile widens as he sips from his own cup, meeting Cao Cao's eyes over the rim. He then sets it down before hovering at his side and looking around the lavish banquet hall. ]

It's something we should remedy soon enough before the alcohol reaches our minds. It will not be long before we begin to crave something to warm us throughout the night, and I know you are never short of exquisite guests to add more decoration to the night.

[Words were slipt about Cao Cao hosting a party and of course that lead Guan Yu to hope that she would see a familiar face around here. Of course they were not often at the most favorable terms, but they had kind of overlooked it a few times already and they had been not exactly hostile.

When she looked around, she did not see a trace of anyone around here, so she approaches the man who looked a bit uninterested in the workings around him.]

Errm, excuse me?

[He looks to see who had addressed him. He did not know who this person was, or why she did not know who exactly she was speaking to, so all Cao Cao does in turn is tilt his head, an inquiring and piercing gaze in her direction.]

[The gaze made her almost want to back down - perhaps she should have not been so bold to just adress a human without warning. Still, she gathers her courage and speaks up again.]

The host of this party... do you know where he is?

[Jia Xu's own is rather amused as he approaches Cao Cao. Throwing the party had been a good tactical manoeuvre, though he couldn't help but wonder if there was something more behind it.]

[Well, going to introduce herself while he looks that bored is probably a safe bet, right? It's likely only a matter of time before someone else comes along and distracts him with something fascinating, so Oichi decides to take her chances, and approaches him.]

Are you Lord Cao Cao?

[Lord Nagamasa had far more experience with the Wei faction than she did, but she still considered them to be important, especially here. It would be good to make a favourable impression.]

[There's a small regal nod from Cao Cao.]

[It's only polite, when invited to a party, to actually turn up at it. Yukimura's enjoying himself, currently seated on a mat near the large fire that had been set up in the middle of camp with a plate of mochi in front of him and a large bottle of sake. He's clearly enjoying himself, but those mochi aren't going to eat themselves.]

[She's not sure what brings her here, but, there were drinks! She thought perhaps a drink or two would probably get her mind off of a dear someone she lost... yeah, it's not working. It's only been three little cups, though.]

[Yukimura doesn't like seeing pretty girls unhappy. Especially at a party. He gestures for Kunoichi to come over to where he is.]

Now now, what's the use of being sad at a party? Crying into your cup won't make you feel better.

Are you planning on drinking all of that sake yourself?

[Most likely, because who wouldn't? But Nobunaga thinks that it's a perfect way to force her way into his thoughts. With any luck, he might even want some company.]

[Yukimura shakes his head. He believes in sharing, of course.]

But who am I to refuse a pretty lady who asks?

[Mitsuhide is just going to stand to the side, watching everyone quietly. The bottom half of his face is concealed by a simple black mask, and most of his body by a long cloak. Why?]

[If anybody asks who he is, he'll call himself Tenkai. Because this is a Mitsuhide who killed his Lord, lost his friend and is fairly certain there are quite a few warriors around that should want to kill him. Some who should already be dead. Yet he currently has nowhere else to go.]

[All of this means getting into the party spirit is rather difficult. 8'D What do?]

[And of course, considering how lively everyone else is, his behaviour seems rather odd. Perhaps he's simply not in the mood for a drinking party, but even so, she decides to approach him.

If only she knew that he was a Mitsuhide... her own retainer, though in a male form. She too had been betrayed by Mitsuhide, though it had taken a considerably different turn than the history books said.

Ah, well. There was nothing else for it.]

[Mitsuhide tilts his head when he is addressed; he turns a fraction, so he can face the speaker properly. Hmm...]

[The samurai sounds rather somber. He has definitely not met this woman before, but there's something oddly familiar about her presence.]

I am merely rather overwhelmed. So many unbelievable things have happened in such a short space of time... it is hard to take in.

[And that is not a lie. It's not the main reason, not at all, but all he is willing to speak of.]

[Normally Jia Xu can hold his drink best of all the Eight, but tonight he's in the business of people watching, as he suspects every last strategically inclined person in the party is. He sits at one of the long tables with a still-full cup and looks around for interesting faces. They're almost all interesting, that's the problem.

He takes a long but slow sip and leans back, calm despite his frown. He's actually enjoying himself quite a bit.]

[Considering that most of the people in attendance were already from Wei, or were at least Wei's allies in this strange new world, none of them particularly stood out to Jia Xu at the moment. After speaking with Cao Cao he weaved his way through the crowds, watching others enjoy the festivities. As much as he didn't mind drinking, he rarely stayed sober for long- the likes of Wang Yi and Guo Jia could easily drink him under the table, and he was trying to avoid that if possible.

Though of all the people present, it was one in particular that drew his attention, sitting surrounded by others but seemingly not partaking in the festivities. Why he was drawn to this man in particular he didn't know, but Jia Xu had always been a man that followed his instincts, and so he went to take a seat next to him.]

What is it that you seek?

[After all, he kept looking around- perhaps in the hopes of finding something interesting, just like him.]

[This, too, he'd expected to see happen sooner or later during the evening - someone deciding to be upfront about the interest that everyone here had in everyone else. Watching only got you so far, and Jia Xu welcomed the more direct approach. He casually sipped his drink as he turned his attention to the man: a little strange-looking but weren't they all, older than him, in the colors of the other world's Lord Cao. And clever-looking, he could tell that much - yes, very.]

Haha, I think I've found it, [he said pleasantly enough, raising his cup to the other man.] Someone who'll ask me, rather than stare and hope I will or won't notice.
