[Chitose had just cut his way through the what-ever they were beings as he noticed somewhere in the distance that looked more... well, human. Human was a start, right? And while he usually didn't keep contact to humans, oni-rules and everything, well... it wasn't like he had broken that rule long ago already. At least those humans weren't using him for doing them a favor, right? Better than those other stupid warlords.

Anyways, considering that was probably his best chance of an ally - unless the other guy was the boss of those whatevers, in which case he would make short work of him - Chitose decided to approach him.]

Yo. Lost here as well?

[He flung one of the blue ones off his foot with such force that it was sent flying rather messily into a tree with a satisfyingly wet crunch. That served to give the remaining second thoughts about attacking, if for a brief moment.

Kazama lifted his head, glancing over at the other. He arched a brow, even as he idly flicked his blade to the side, slicing through several of the nuisances on the ground.]

Lost. That's as blunt as one can put it.

[Good, that meant potential ally right in front of him. Though the way the other man fought seemed.. well, he seemed stronger than a human, didn't he? Then again Toyohisa had also managed to man up quite a lot there, but he hadn't really gained oni-strength just yet.]

Well then, I guess we could clean here up together. I'm Chitose.

[Odd for introductions, he thought, but he shrugged.]

Tch. I don't need help cleaning up this rabble. They're nothing more than a minor annoyance.

[He considered for a moment before finally speaking again to offer his own name.]

Kazama...Chikage.

[Alright, he's making short work of another of those blue talking somethings before he turns towards Chikage again.]

Kazama? From the Kazama-clan? As in oni? [Alright, this was daring to ask, but Chikage and Kazama hinted that a lot.]

[His outburst confused him, if briefly. Crimson eyes widen before narrowing at the following said.]

What relation do you have to the oni?

[Yet even as he said this, his mind was already turning the question and the implications from earlier.]

...Chitose... [But that couldn't be...]

What relation... I'm the head of the Kazama-clan. Kazama Chitose. [And yeah, he is supposed to keep this a secret unless trust is established and everything but if that was someone from his clan, thennn]

[Really, if someone intended to try making a fool of him- Kazama swung his blade about, tip pointed at the man claiming to be of his clan... and not just that, but someone so well known-

...but then that was exactly the case, wasn't it? Such a name wasn't so freely given, nor the ties that went with it. So who was this??]

[Alright, he's not going to step back here. He's only said the truth and he wasn't someone particular suspicious.]

If you are truly from the Kazama-clan you should know that.

[He's getting more serious and his sword touched Chikage's.]

[That was what bothered him. This shouldn't be possible. For all that Chitose said, Kazama remained holding his blade firmly as metal met metal.

His head tilted but a fraction of an angle, as much of a nod as he was about to give.]

I don't see how your claim can be possible. It's a dangerous thing to try impersonating an Oni, especially under the name that you claim.

I'm not impersonating anyone. [And he liked to think that he was one of the best swordsman - or rather - the best swordsman between the oni.]

I'll show you what Chitose-sama is capable of. [He turns away from Chikage this time, his eyes wandering between the new incoming way of mysterious blue things while he wore a cocky grin on his face.]

Taa...! [And just like that, flames were gracing his sword as he swung it at the enemy.]

[Kazama lowered his sword as Chitose stepped away, still eying the other distrustfully.]

[He hadn't expected the flames. Such a feat was something he'd only heard of from a time so long ago.]

[The flames had made even shorter work of the blue somethings than his usual skills did.]

There, was that proof enough for you?

[After all, not every oni could do that and the oni from other clans had other skills.]

[It was, but he hated to admit it. It still offered no explanation for how or why.]

I do not see how this is even possible.

What do you mean by that? Who are you in the Kazama-clan anyways to question my authority?

[Though the name gave away he must be of rather high ranking.]

[Way to punch him in the ego, Chitose. His brow twitched, if faintly. His grip upon his sword remained firm, but he kept from once again raising it against the other Oni for now.]

I am head of the Kazama clan, and strongest of the Oni of the West. The name of Chitose is not one unknown, but it has been centuries since he has been head of our clan.

[Yeah, well, sorry, but Chitose does have his own ego and arrogance as well. Perhaps this might be their common family trait.]

Wait, what? Centuries? What do you mean by that? As you can see I'm standing right in front of you.

[thewonderstud]

[Probably.]

[A frown.]

...which is what bothers me all the more.

[His gaze slid away from Chitose, looking past.]

-perhaps we should deal with these pests before we speak any further. They seem quite persistent.

Yeah, sounds good to me.

[He's putting his cocky grin back on his face. Well, that was at least better than to think he was dead for centuries now.

He plunges right back into the mass to get his day's work done.]

[Snorting lightly, Kazama turned, leading with his blade as more of the pesky blue folk came around. Huh. The nerve of them trying to think they could surround them.

If there was any great difficulty, it was in that the creatures were so small. Reaching them took some effort, effort that the Oni didn't care to put forth, but felt that allowing himself to be overrun by them would just be far worse for his dignity.

He stooped slightly, just enough that a low strike from his blade could cleave through the foremost of the blue wave closest to him.]

[Chitose jumped back to regain some of his energy. He used the time to watch that other head of the Kazama-clan.]

You're not doing too bad. Not as good as me, but...

[But decent enough. Decent enough to be his successor anyways.]

[thewonderstud]

[He forced a laugh, not quite rolling his eyes as he sent another score of the creatures flying.]

You're all talk.

[yasashiioni]

Do you want to fight againt me?

[Once they have finished this, of course.]

[thewonderstud]

You think you'd be worth my time?

[Although the idea of facing off against a former clan head- well, he can't say he's not curious as to how he'd measure up. If this guy is really who he says he is, of course.]

I'm more than worth your time.

[And Chitose is curious as well. If Chikage was his descendant than he wanted to know who was the stronger of them.]
